Harmony of your teeth, jaw joints, and muscles is important in the success of your cosmetic, esthetic or restorative treatment. We try to recognize and eliminate factors that may undermine this harmony.
One of these factors is occlusal disease. It often develops as a result of improper bite and unconscious habit of grinding and clenching (bruxism).
Careful diagnosis often reveals a mismatched occlusion, or bite. In other words, the top and bottom rows of teeth and jaw joints do not fit together properly. This misalignment becomes especially damaging when you have a tendency for bruxism. This causes teeth to slide around and bang into each other and results in developing occlusal disease.
